Indypindy Couture – Poitou Charentes publicity photographer

Indypindy Couture has been established for a few years now, based in Le Dorat a small town in the Haute Vienne department of the Limousin region in France.  I have a special spot for this business as it was created by Rae Streets (yes the surname may seem familiar, she’s my mum) and the business was named for my first born daughter India.  Rae has been dressmaking for many years and although I’m biased, she is extremely talented.  It’s not just me that knows this, her client base, a mixture of French and English people, is just growing and growing and after a mind blowingly successful fashion show back in 2007 is it any wonder.  She moved premises early Autumn of 2009 and asked if I’d take some publicity photographs of her new ’atelier’ .

Oohh La La, Elle est trop belle – Poitou Charentes child photographer

A couple of weekends ago I had the pleasure of  photographing this Mademoiselle, a real French Beauty, in fact she is in the line up of the Little Miss France competition this March.  It was wonderful working with someone so photogenic and so willing to pose.  Merci Mademoiselle C. c’était un plaisir!!

Moody – Poitou Charentes child photographer

PCS = Photographers Child Syndrome!!!!

Yes she has it and boy can she work it.  This is the look I often get now when I ask if I can take her picture, she’s so over mum being a photographer, she’s so over mum bribing her with chocolate, friends to play, sweeties, watching her favourite DVD or one of mine (child friendly of course).  So I decided why bother, lets take a picture of her how she really looks when she’s NOT in the mood to have her picture taken – she did let me ruffle her hair to add to the 6 going on 16 moody look.  But here is Miss I in all her grumpy gloriness and why isn’t she looking at me? because the TV was on of course.

Eyelashes to die for – Poitou Charentes child photographer

Miss I and her eyelashes!!! What more can I say even at the grand old age of three and a half all she has to do is flutter them and she melts the hearts of everyone around her.

Adorable brother and sister – Poitou Charentes child photographer

I was fortunate enough to pull in a photo shoot during our recent trip back to the UK over Christmas.  The day before Christmas Eve I braved the snow and headed to a clients house for a very impromptu session.  The session had been arranged via my sister in law and I hadn’t even spoken with the people I was about to photograph.  Not my normal way of doing things I can tell you but I am so glad I had the opportunity to photograph Miss O and Master C, what a riot.  We played, we giggled, we pulled silly faces and just had fun.  You’d never have guessed that these lively kids and I had never met before, they were so friendly and open from the get go.  Mr and Mrs M. I hope you enjoy your sneak peek,  your full gallery will be available soon.

He’s behind you….Oh no he isn’t!!. – Poitou Charentes event photographer

Last Friday I had the opportunity to photograph the dress rehearsal of a small production of Cinderella.  It was hard to photograph because I was giggling so much – the Ugly Sisters were a scream.  Held in a small town hall in Haims near Montmorillon in the middle of rural France this group of predominately British people had not only made their own costumes, props and produced it themselevs but also translated it into French and made it FUNNY – not bad when French isn’t your first language.  Hope you enjoy your sneek peaks.

Last splash of colour – Poitou Charentes child photographer

Last weekend we headed out to enjoy the last splash of autumn colour before the winter is well and truly here.  I love colours at this time of the year, they always seem so vibrant.  Miss T was certainly happy to get out of the house and took the opportunity to show me just how high she could jump, pretty impressive for a 3 year old wouldn’t you say, while Miss I concentrated on not dropping her teddy in any mud.

The New Blog

How exciting! A brand new blog – not just a revamp but an entirely new template! And hello Wordpress!  So like all new things it’s going to take a bit of getting used to, it’s taken me days to decide on colours that work with ‘my colours’ and backgrounds and layout and the whole look of the blog.  I’m not sure if I’m entirely finshed modifying it yet but I could go on and on and just wanted to get sharing.
